A new study by Harvard Medical School crossed satellite images and Internet queries to come to this dreadful conclusion.

We at Bitter Winter have been among the first to raise doubts about the official CCP narrative on the coronavirus infection. We did not embrace conspiracy theories, but simply put together different findings and asked questions. China’s responsibility for the pandemic though the spread of fake news, the silencing of key people in the early days of the epidemic, and the fatal delays in reaction is now abundantly demonstrated, as well as the complicity of the World Health Organization. The CCP and the WHO made the epidemic even worse, as denounced by many. In the meantime, the CCP’s persecution of ethnic minorities and religious groups in China through incarceration, campaigns against the groups labelled as xie jiao, “sinicization,” “rectification,” “generalization of halal,” and all sort of harassment has continued relentlessly, in total disdain for human life and hoping that the world, distracted by the virus, would not pay attention.
So far, we believed that the CCP regime knew about the deadly virus from November 17, 2019 and did not tell the truth to the world until January 2020. Perhaps, the story is even worse. According to a new study by Harvard Medical School, satellite images from Wuhan, the very center of the virus crisis according to the CCP, and an accurate investigation of Internet research queries, may show that the coronavirus had been spreading in China as early as late August 2019.
The new study, “Analysis of hospital traffic and search engine data in Wuhan China indicates early disease activity in the Fall of 2019,” has been posted at Harvard’s DASH, i.e. the digital library of the famous American university. While not yet peer-reviewed, it offers an important new perspective.
According to the researchers, the idea that COVID-19 came from some wild animal in Wuhan’s Huanan Seafood Market in November 2019, which seems to have become the accepted orthodoxy on the matter, may be disproved by analyzing carefully the hospitals’ parking lots. Comparing data from 2018 and 2019, they in fact document huge increases in traffic at Wuhan’s hospitals, even of 90%, as busy parking lots show, and this starting from August 2019. Moreover, this increase came at the same time when queries from people using Baidu, the most popular Internet search engine in China, concentrated on terms like “diarrhea” and “cough.” One point is curious here: cough and sneeze have been denounced as clear COVID-19 symptoms for months all over the world, and the disease was initially defined chiefly as affecting respiratory tracts. Only later gastrointestinal disorders, among which nausea, vomit, and diarrhea, have been added to COVID-19’s most important symptoms. As Harvard researchers noted, diarrhea is a more COVID-19-specific symptom than respiratory tracts diseases and, when dealing with coronaviruses, “only shows an association with the current epidemic.”
Satellite images and analysis of Internet queries are common validated data streams. As CNN reports “[u]sing ‘validated data streams’ for respiratory disease surveillance isn’t new and it’s also a technique employed by intelligence agencies.” Boston Children’s Hospital chief innovation officer, Dr. John Brownstein, the leader of the Harvard experts team, explained their use to CNN, stating that “hospital parking lots […] can be used, can be a relative indicator for something happening in a population”. Brownstein himself detected an important seasonal flu just looking at the hospitals’ parking lots in Latin America years ago.
At the end of the day, one thing is sure: the scientific community has yet to say its final word on when the epidemic started. But another conclusion looks as very much probable: we have not seen the end of the CCP’s turbid story of lies and dishonesty.
