Desperate Journeys is a film based on Khaled Hosseini’s visits to refugees in Lebanon and Italy in July 2018. Its release ties in with that of the namesake UNHCR report, which provides an overview of the changing patterns of movement to and through Europe and challenges and risks those seeking international protection face in accessing territory and asylum procedures.
